On May 21st, according to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of Vietnam, in the first four months of 2018, Vietnam imported 4.218 million tons of steel, with imports amounting to US$3.03 billion. Volume and value fell by 23.5% and 5.3% respectively.
In the first four months, a total of 1.9 million tons of steel were exported, and the export value was 1.41 billion US dollars. Volume and value increased by 43.6% and 61.7% respectively year-on-year. Although the volume of steel imports has dropped significantly, it is still more than double the volume of exports.
